The Hip Hop Circuit illustrates the connectedness among Hip Hop, Popular Culture and, Education. This website is designed to facilitate the promotion of understanding the histoical importance of hip hop, to provide interesting instructional strategies for teachers to use hip hop in the classroom, and to give members of a larger community a mechinism to expand their knowledge base of Hip Hop, Popular Culture and, Education.

 

OVERVIEW

The history of hip hop spans well over 30 years. From DJ Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa, and Kurtis Blow, hip hop has expanded beyond the streets fo New York and into the living rooms of mainstream America. This page examines the history of hip hop, Davey D's Hip Hop Corner, and links to the influence of Hip Hop world-wide.

 

ADOLESCENTS AND STUDENTS

The purpose of this page is to the knowledge base of Hip Hop and how it has changed music and society. Adolescents will become exposed to develop students' knowledge base by examining the social, political, and economic implications of hip hop culture.
